Overview

Welcome

Welcome to the site for the Solar Circuit International New Media Workshop and Residency Aotearoa New Zealand event. Otherwise known as SCANZ. This event was held July 3-16, 2006 in New Plymouth, New Zealand.

Background

SCANZ follows in the tradition of Solar Circuit and Polar Circuits. These events are a gathering of diverse artists, curators and producers involved in contemporary practice with projects and activities which intersect the environment in some way. SCANZ will be the first and largest such event to be held in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Artists & Project Proposals

Artists, curators and producers were invited to submit proposals for projects to develop during the two-week workshop and residency. A second and final call for developed projects was made.

APPLICATIONS FOR SCANZ ARE NOW CLOSED.

Project Team

The SCANZ Project Team consists of Ian M Clothier (Western Institute of Technology at Taranaki), Trudy Lane, Mercedes Vicente (Govett-Brewster Art Gallery), John Fairclough (University of Auckland) and Deborah Lawler-Dormer (Moving Image Centre).
